bm is a young home concept.
To the question: who is young? We can answer children, teenagers, those leaving home for the first time, young couples starting a new life... and many more. At bm, we make furniture for all of these young people.
From the beginning in 1999, design became a part of the bm identity. From the very start, our aim for fundamental values and our passion have been the driving forces for ongoing improvements.
The designs by Carlos Tiscar, the graphic designs of Juan Martinez, Antonio Solaz and Pablo Alabau, the fashion designs of Laura Alandes and the in-house product department led by Esther Negredo have enabled us to develop extensive furniture ranges such as the TOP collections of children's bedrooms, the TopSleep bedrooms or the TopLook range of wardrobes, and in addition, the real bm design icons such as the Up&Down bunk beds, the Facebox children's drawer units, the Beat and Elastic wardrobes amongst others.
The personalization of the product is summed up in the motto that goes with the bm logo: Plural & Singular. Our products are designed for all types of people. Basic and timeless products where the main aim is to perform the purpose for which they have been designed, shying away from excessive and overdone embellishment. Because we all like to be different and choose the things to surround ourselves with, you can customize this product for yourself. Achieving this is easy thanks to 60 choices of finish: base, lacquer, textile, metal, etc. and in addition the differing width and height measurements. There are more than 700,000 options to choose from!
Quality is one of the principles we adhere to when we carry out the study, design, and manufacture of each one of our products. Spanish and European quality regulations are taken into account. Aidima (The Furniture Technological Institute) certifies the quality of our products with different tests. We would like to show you the fatigue test carried out on the drawers. To see videos and find out more about the Aidiam controls and tests, you can have a look at their website: http://www.simbolocalidad.com/ensayos.php
Because every detail matters on a bm piece of furniture, we meticulously design and develop opening systems, such as the guard rail of convertible cots, drawer pulls, feet and wheels for chests of drawers, wardrobe door edges and many more components.
At bm, we carry out ongoing product improvements, such as the inclusion of hidden metal guides with a retention systems. The latter stops the drawer from slamming closed and the children from trapping their fingers. The wardrobe shelves have increased in thickness to 30 mm, the hanging rails have non-slip rubber, and the backs of the modules and wardrobes are 10 mm thick.
The broad scope of bm products allows their use to be adapted to different purposes and ages. When it comes to choosing the finish, you can make the same piece of furniture have a childish look or it could be equally suited to an office. An example of this is the new Infinite Bed. This bed that starts from the measurement of one modular piece and continues growing until you reach the required measurement. For a 90 cm width mattress in the White Dot finish or in a daring color, it is perfect for a child. If we add modules for a 150 cm width mattress and choose a more serious finish, you get a bed that is perfect for adults.
Another example of this broad scope of the bm products is the wall panels with peg holes. These allow us to finish them off with shelves, knobs, and elastic bands. For a child's bedroom, a wall space can become a place to put books, toys, etc. and for a small office, the same panel can become very efficient for storage without taking up much space.
