Dress up or down. Laid-back cat-like elegance with attitude. Black as the night. Fashion designer Anna Bonnevier’s Numb collection for women adds architectonic precision to eight stretchy garments in high quality knitted viscose from Sweden’s last remaining viscose producer.
The fashion items are anything but predetermined: they want to be explored and used in experimental ways. Design House Stockholm’s first fashion line is inspired by modern architecture and dystopian novels from the 1940s, as well as the body’s own movement, revealing forms within hidden spaces.
The tunics, dresses, trousers, and capes were created from Anna’s adaptation of angular forms into stylish, edgy and versatile fashion pieces.
“Numb is the body’s first encounter with architecture,” says Anna. “I’m a true minimalist, and have cut away everything; all that is left around the body is form and fabric that is pleasant to wear. The pieces can be draped dramatically or worn subtly depending on the occasion as well as the mood and personality of the wearer.”
The Numb collection is Anna’s prize-winning graduation project from Konstfack, the University College of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.
Numb is available in black, and the cardigans are also available in grey.
